D Update

Baby D is healthy and growing well. Our due date got moved up to June 10th. (That makes A very happy!)

We have some exciting news for you on Friday so make sure you stay tuned!

C Update

C is also doing well with therapy.

Speech - Mrs B has finally gotten through! C used to just sit quietly and look at Mrs B during therapy but in the last month he has started responding to her. We still have A LOT of grunting but he is learning signs and loving it. I love that he can tell me when he's hungry, thirsty, or all done too.

Occupational - Mrs A is doing a wonderful job. The problem we have is that she has so much work to do. C did however take his first steps this week so we are excited to tell Mrs A today! We are also working very hard on C's eating skills. He's doing so much better but is still very specific about cups and certain foods. Hopefully we can get this fixed by March when he goes to nursery.

Physical - C also got a PT evaluation this month. She said he is behind but Mrs A is doing all the right things. We also got a few more tips on how we can help and with them he is showing greater progress already.

We are so grateful for the Infant and Toddler program. Thank you to all you wonderful therapists who work so hard to teach mom's like me how to help their kids!

Tomorrow, A pregnancy update!

B Update

So I've been promising you an therapy update on B. Well here it is.

Speech - Mrs. B is great! B has come so far with her help. His new favorite words are "maybe", "probably", and "honey" (we really need to start calling each other mom & dad apparently).

Physical - We had an evaluation and it seems he is keeping up. We were a little worried he was falling behind again but the therapist says he is staying at the same level (comparatively) that he was at a year ago when he stopped getting PT.

Developmental - Mrs. E is still working with B. She is the only therapist that has been with us since the very beginning. We're working on colors, stringing beads, and making lines & circles in paper. So far B loves learning new things and is continuing to catch up.

We will have a transitional meeting this month as B will no longer be eligible for therapy through this program once he is 3 and his "progress" will than be monitored by the schools.

So far so good. I still can't believe how far he has come!

C's update tomorrow. :)

Sick Baby

Sorry we've been slow on the posting. Midterms are almost done (I have two to finish tomorrow) and hopefully we will know how to better help C after his Dr's appointment in the morning. It's been a rough week. I think C has an ear infection. His temperature has been high and he just wants to sit on my lap all day, which is really not like him. Tonight when I got home from school he had a rash on the side of his face too. Hopefully things smooth out soon.

My Thoughts:

I absolutely cannot wait to use my new BabyBond with baby D. I've never been comfortable nursing in public  mostly because when I've had to it has been awkward trying to cover up with a blanket. Especially with C it was hard enough to nurse at home because his oral problems required that I be able to see his face at all times and that is not an option with most nursing covers. Because C's problem is genetic and there is a good chance baby D will have it too I have been very worried about nursing as I will be at school and need to do so discretely. The BabyBond however has made me much less worried. I'm sure we will still have our problems with nursing itself but with the BabyBond I am going to be able to take care of those problems and allow baby D to get the best nutrition possible. And the best part is the BabyBond rolls up so small that i will have no problem putting it in my backpack or even in my pocket so it will always be there when we need it.

February Already?

I cannot believe it is already February! Honestly, what happened to January? Thank you for all the great support we had for our Handmade with Love event. I thought it went wonderfully and I'm so glad to have more followers.

Next week watch for an announcement about our next four events. They are going to be HUGE!

Last week B & C also had their six month reviews for therapy so I will be updating everyone on our new goals in the next week or so. Next week is midterms at the Kerr house so if I'm not around much know we are busy studying and I'll be back soon.

A Thought For Sunday

Parenting Advice Needed

So B has decided he hates being in a dirty or wet diaper. He hates it so much in fact that almost every morning about 3am he's in our room telling us he's stinky. We change his diaper and he goes back to bed no problem. Needless to say however this is getting very old very quickly. Any ideas on what we can do? All advice appreciated! Please feel free to share.

Crash!!!

Today was a long day. The boys came to school with E & I so they could attend my infant/toddler class where we were doing toddler observations. It all went great until we went to pick them up from their babysitter after classes and I slipped, while carrying C & a backpack, in her driveway. Now my knee is killing me, I figured better my knee then C's head. Tomorrow could be a long day as my knee is swollen to twice it's normal size and I have a ton to do tomorrow.
