HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE GIVEAWAY HOP - May Hollow Gift

It's almost Christmas! Can you believe it? I know I'm having a hard time believing it! Thankfully we have time for a couple more great giveaways here at Kerrific before the big day hits. I'm sure glad that Mama The Fox put this group together so we can do this for all of you!

Here at Kerrific we have a great prize package put together by best-selling author Angela Correll to celebrate her new book Granted

About The Book:

Former international flight attendant Annie Taylor is embracing her country roots and racing toward a future with her sustainable farmer fiancé, but her new job, a mysterious ex-boyfriend, and a narcissistic father complicate wedding plans.

Meanwhile, Annie’s old-fashioned grandma, Beulah, is facing a shakeup in the last place she ever thought she would – home. A crisis on May Hollow Road follows a friend’s betrayal, challenging Beulah’s forgiving nature. An unwelcome diet, a new houseguest, and a possible overseas trip will all stretch her spirit – if she lets it.

Granted takes readers from the comforts of the Kentucky countryside to old-world Tuscany with a cast of memorable characters. Granted follows Groundedand Guarded in the May Hollow Trilogy.

About the Author:

Angela Correll lives on a farm in Central Kentucky with her husband, Jess. Her novels are Amazon bestsellers and have been adapted to the stage for sold-out audiences at the Pioneer Playhouse, Kentucky’s oldest outdoor theater. She loves canning vegetables from her garden, exploring the Tuscan countryside, and spending time with her family.

Budget Gift Ideas for the Hard To Shop For

Those of you who know me know that I'm always on a very strict budget. This goes for everything from groceries to holiday gifting. Sometimes the hardest people for me to gift for are those that I don't know very well because I can't shop for them all year long like I do my children and husband. Today I want to share some ideas for the hard to shop for on your list.

* Portable Cooling Stand - this is a great gift for most anyone. All of us have tech devices and need easy to use, transportable stands for them. This is a simple gift that is easy to ship and fits all devices so you don't need to know specifics. A great gift that they will actually use.

* Cake in a Mug - I like this one because you can make it at home. I love getting these simple cakes in a mug and they make great neighbor gifts that people can continue using long after the yummy cake is gone.

* Flowers - another easy to give gift. This is unique at the holidays but beautiful flowers to brighten those dark holiday days are welcome in any home. Both traditional holiday flowers, like poinsettias, and more unique flowers, like roses or daises, are great for holiday gifting!

* Fresh Fruit - again something that helps brighten those dark winter days. Fresh fruit is so healthy and good for you and is bound to be appreciated by any recipient.

These are some of my favorite ideas for holiday gifting. What are some of your best ideas for those you don't know so well? Tell us about it!

Great Gift Ideas for Mom

Mom's can be some of the hardest people to buy for. They don't seem to let anyone know what they need and their wants are often minimized by their desire to care for others. One thing this mom always enjoys is some time to relax. Which is what I'm basing my mom gift ideas off of this year.

A good book or movie - something that mom can enjoy during her me time. I prefer books but many mothers like movies. It can be a classic favorite or something new that you know she would like to see but hasn't taken the time to do so.

Bath Bombs - always a big hit. Give mom some time to relax with her favorite scents.

Lotion - another mom favorite. Our poor hands get worn out and good lotion is a must. If you want her to feel really special get a large one for the house and a travel size for her purse.

Leggings - something she can wear to be comfy. Leggings are a great option because you don't need to know exact sizes. There are lots of great colors and styles out there. It's easy to find something that mom will love!

What is your go to gift for mom? We'd love to hear your excellent ideas!

Don't Let Stress Get to Your Skin

The stress of the holidays can have disastrous results on your skin. According to webMD:
Stress causes a chemical response in your body that makes skin more sensitive and reactive. It can also make it harder for skin problems to heal.Have you ever noticed that you break out more when you’re stressed? This is because stress causes your body to make hormones like cortisol, which tells glands in your skin to make more oil. Oily skin is more prone to acne and other skin problems.Stress can also:Make skin problems worse. For example, stress can aggravate psoriasis, rosacea, and eczema. It can also cause hives and other types of skin rashes and trigger a flare-up of fever blisters.Interfere with daily skin care. If you’re stressed, you might skimp on this part of your routine, which can aggravate skin issues. It can also be stressful to have problems with your skin. Some people feel so bad about how it looks that they keep to themselves, which adds more stress.

This year, I'm taking my skin health in my hands by using Anavita Cream.

Say Goodbye To Wrinkled, Sagging, Dry Skin In Just A Few Short Weeks! See more vibrant, healthier, smoother skin with Anavita's advanced anti-aging moisturizer. You will start seeing results within 2 to 4 weeks and have continued improvement with ongoing use. You will reduce the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles, firming and replenishing your skin to look noticeably younger, without needing expensive procedures like Botox or dermal fillers. Simply massage on Anavita Moisturizing Anti-Wrinkle Cream after cleansing your skin in the morning and again at night. And most importantly, be confidant in your skin this holiday season!

Great Gift Ideas for Infants

Infants can sometimes be the hardest to buy for. If it's your first, there are probably lots of things that you child either does, or will need that you can gift for the holidays but if you're like me and have six older children then there isn't much you need making things more complicated. Here are some ideas that we have used for the young child that needs nothing. Hopefully it helps!

  •  Nightlight - getting new and/or updated nightlights can be a perfect gift. We use multiple at our house so we regularly need replacement bulbs or fixtures. It's fun to get new styles when we redecorate and there are always fun new options coming out like the Ocean Wave light we got this year!
  • Socks & Shoes - we can never keep track of socks and soft shoes are a must have in many colors so this makes a fun, simple gift that will be put to good use.
  • Bath Toys - there are a lot of great bath toys out there and again, these are something that need regular replacing. I try to avoid toys with squirting features as they tend to mold faster but other then that there are many great options and my kids seem to love them all!
  • Food - there's nothing babies and toddlers like better then food. Crackers, fruit, or any other favorites always make great gifts.
What's your favorite gift to give to infants? Tell us about it!

$25 Cover Reveal Giveaway – My Sister’s Intended by Rachael Anderson

Yahoo!! A new book coming from one of my favorite authors!! I’m so excited for this one!!

Coming Spring 2018
My Sister’s Intended by Rachael Anderson

For as long as Prudence can remember, it has been understood that her sister will one day wed the eldest son of their nearest neighbor. Such an alliance will benefit both families and bring a great deal of joy to all parents involved.
Unfortunately, Prudence has never been able to feel as joyful. She believes her sister is mad to consider marrying a man she hardly knows, even if he will one day make her a countess. Titles and wealth shouldn’t factor into matters of the heart, and as an aspiring romance novelist, Prudence cannot fathom how anyone could even think of settling for less than love. She certainly wouldn’t, and she doesn’t want her sister to either.
Unable to stand by and do nothing, Prudence sets out to help the awkward couple discover the best in each other with the hope that they will eventually find love. What she neglected to foresee, however, was that she might fall in love with Lord Knave herself.
Author Rachael Anderson
A USA Today bestselling author, Rachael Anderson is the mother of four and is pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. She can’t sing, doesn’t dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.

Super Stocking Stuffer Giveaway Hop - The Crooked Christmas Tree by Damian Chandler

With Christmas coming all too quickly, it's time to think about gift giving. What better way to fill the stockings of those in your life then with giveaway wins! Today we're excited to participate in this great hop to help you on your way.

Our prize today is a copy of The Crooked Christmas Tree by Damian Chandler. In this thoroughly contemporary holiday story, a father lets his children choose the family Christmas tree. To his surprise, the kids pick one that is crooked. As he tries one thing after another to make the tree look right, he rediscovers the power of God’s love. He begins to understand Christmas in a new way, particularly when his family decorates their tree and crown it with a star, never even noticing the crookedness he spent hours in the garage struggling to hide. The tender and laugh-out-loud narrative of real-life relationships propels the reader through the most un-generic Christmas story. This upbeat and comedic treasure refreshes the Christmas message of love and faith.

Gift Ideas for Little Girls

While I am not going to be posting an official Gift Guide this holiday season, I do want to make sure I share some fun gift ideas with you. Today I want to focus on little girls, ages 3-7. This includes two littles at my house so we've been doing a lot of brainstorming and searching. This will be a condensed list of some of our favorite gift ideas for them.

  • Craft Kits - My little girls love to be crafty with mom. And while it can be fun to have them help, oftentimes it's better for them to have their own projects that are more age appropriate. I've found a couple of fun craft kits lately. The first is a neon decoration kit. It comes with glitter and sequins and lots of bright colors which my girls will love. The second is a headband builder kit. Again, comes with lots of great items for the girls to make their own headbands which at my house is something they actually use.
  • Mermaid Tails - These come in lots of versions. You can get blankets and costumes but my favorite are these SunTails. The colors are awesome and they are local to me. I also happen to have a coupon code (BestGiftEver) that will get you a 10% discount.
  • Princess Anything - I don't know about your little girls but mine are big into princesses. Their favorite changes from day to day but princess anything will make them happy. This year we're stocking up on dress up clothes, tutus, crowns, capes, and dolls in princess themes. It will go great in my girl's new room and give them many hours of fun!
What is your favorite thing to gift to little girls? We want to hear your ideas and/or favorite memories!

Clean or Dirty?

Does anyone else always get asked if things are clean or dirty? It seems like it's an ongoing issue at our house. The dishes, the laundry, the kids' hands ... it's hard to keep track of what's been washed and what is still needing to be cleaned. Recently we got this fun magnet to help us keep track of the dishes in the dishwasher a little better. I love that it's simple to use, just flip it over, and it will always be attached to the dishwasher. In theory, I should be able to look at the little gentleman and know if the dishes inside are ready to use or still needing washed.

My question is, how long until my two year old figures this out and starts helping me by turning it around? Hopefully I can be tricky and not let him see me do it so he'll leave it alone but that kid is a stinker.

How do you keep track of the dishwasher being clean or dirty? I'd love to hear your tips and tricks! And the other things in your house. How do you know for laundry, hands and other such things? What is clean? How do you keep it clean? How do you know it's clean?

The Baby Bath Must Have List

There are a lot of things that you need to have ready when you bring baby home. Many of them are well talked about like car seats and strollers. Some of them however are lesser known and can be easily forgotten. Today I'd like to share my list of must have baby bathroom items with you.

  • Shampoo & Body Wash - this is fairly simple but make sure you have something that is good for sensitive skin. Tear free formulas are also a must have at our house. Pump bottles are a bonus as they make it easy to use one handed while holding baby.
  • Lotion - again, get something that is good for sensitive skin. I like finding something that I like the scent of as it's going to be on me more often then not. I also like having my lotion in a pump bottle so it's easy to use while holding baby.
  • Relief Cream - a shea butter cream is perfect as it works for diaper rash, eczema, cradle cap and more. Again, find something that smells good and I like a jar for this that I leave open on the changing table.
  • Baby Oil - many are surprised to realize that babies benefit greatly from massage. I love using baby oil at bedtime with a gentle massage to help them sleep soundly so I can too.
  • Baby Powder - watch out for Talc! There are some amazing powers out there that are food grade and completely safe for baby. They will help prevent diaper rash and other rashes from dampness (my kids tend to get them under their chins). This is also handy to have around to use in moms shoes to keep them from sticking during the hot summer months.
Hopefully this list helps you prepare a little more for baby. If you want to keep things simple just grab one of the great sets found at Baby Organic. You'll love it!

Bella Tallahan has always hidden behind her twin sister, Tally. She was born with cerebral palsy and even though she has finished college, she lives vicariously through her sister’s adventures.
