Tommee Tippee Review

The Kerr household discovered Tommee Tippee sippy cups when B was very little and have been using them ever sense. When school started this semester we fought with Baby D to find a bottle he would take. Tommee Tippee was one that we tried. Although it was not his favorite it was one of the very few that he would drink from. Now that Baby D has been taking bottles longer he has gotten much better about the Tommee Tippee bottle. As you can see he is currently taking it without any problems.

There are some things that I, as a mom, love about the Tommee Tippee bottle. The biggest thing is its wide neck. I love this for pouring milk into the bottle or adding formula. I had never used a wide mouth bottle before Baby D and I do like them for this reason.

Tommee Tippee is a wonderful company that makes some awesome products! Thanks for sponsoring Tommee Tippee!

Christmas Tree

It's almost time for Christmas but here at the Kerr house we don't get our tree until about a week before Christmas so until then I like to find fun ways to celebrate the holidays. This little Christmas tree is just too cute! I can't wait to use it at our holiday party!

Mail Friendly Gift Idea

It can be so hard to so hard to find the perfect gifts for those you have to mail gifts to. With family spread out clear across the country we often spend more on mailing gifts than on the gifts themselves. This year I have decided I am only sending gift cards, that I can slip inside their Christmas card, to these family members.

This works so well for us. I don't have to worry about making a trip to the post office to mail packages. I don't have to buy boxes, packing tape, or wrapping paper. I make a quick trip to the local Dollar Store for a stack of cards and then stop by Plastic Jungle to get some awesome gift cards at great prices!

Plastic Jungle has awesome discounts on gift cards for the whole family. You can get both physical gift cards (with free shipping) or gift codes to use online. All the gift cards are discounted up to 35%. The choice is yours! The savings is unbeatable! Go check it out today!

Learning to Read the Label and No Water

This week we have been working on finishing some repairs in our downstairs bathroom. Part of this involved moving a drain line so we could finish the ceiling. E made sure he had all the pieces so he could complete the project as quickly as possible. We knew we were having guests over for dinner and we needed to have water by then.

So we worked hard and the pipe was all together in plenty of time. I came upstairs and started to cook dinner and then realized that I didn't have all the clean dishes I needed so I went down to ask E how long it would be before we had water. We had finished the pipes about ten minutes previous and when I as he sits down and begins to read the back of the glue bottle. The result, 2 hours. It was awful!

We still had friends for dinner but I had to change plans really fast so I used less pans. And then after dinner was about an hour late, we were finally able to turn on the water so we could wash the kids.

Next time I will be reading the bottle before I let him start any project that involves turning off the water or we'll be hiring someone like we did with the water heater repair.

I am participating in a blogger campaign for Bucks2Blog about plumbing repair and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.

We've Adopted!

We've been looking for the perfect second dog for a while now and we finally decided to adopt B3. B3 is a Border Collie, German Shepard, Husky mix according to his paperwork. He is about a year old and is fitting right into our family. We all love him dearly and we are slowly working on the few problems he has had. B3 was turned over to the local humane society because he refused to eat and the family did not want to deal with it. His foster says it was a hard couple of days as she introduced him to food that was actually good for him, they had been feeding him scraps and other non-nutritious food, and we haven't had any problems since he came to live with us. We look forward to having B3 be part of our family for many years and sharing many stories with you about him. We are so thankful for the wonderful people who helped him find us this Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Smarti Pants Review & Giveaway

I'm always in the market for a great cloth diaper and recently I was introduced to Smarti Pants. Smarti Pants makes an awesome one size pocket diaper. As you can see we were given a Fire Engine Red diaper to try. The boys love this diaper and I think it's pretty snazzy too.
The one thing I don't like is that this diaper doesn't have hip snaps. It's not a big deal with C but D still needs them to keep his diaper on. Other than that the Smarti Pants has become one of my favorites. Probably our favorite thing is that the insert pocket is rectangular which makes it much easier to stuff than some diapers. The pocket is also open in both the front and back which makes it extra simple and allows the insert to be removed without much assistance. This diaper gives a great fit and we have had very little leaking, just a couple of blow outs but that happens no matter what diaper I put on these boys.

The Smarti Pants diapers are very reasonably priced at just $14.95 each. Or you can buy them in bulk at a discount. If you're in the market for some new cloth diapers you should give Smarti Pants a try.

Smarti Pants has offered to give one Kerrific reader their very own Smarti Pants diaper. To enter please use the form below.

His Country Girl Book Review

Back of the Book:

To fulfill a sick boy's wish, rodeo star Tucker Granger surprises little Owen in the hospital. But no one is more surprised than single mother Sierra Baker. She figures the carefree champion for a different kind of man. One who doesn't spend hours talking "cowboy code" with a hospital-bound child. One who can't have her dreaming of a second chance at love. Somehow, Tucker ropes her heart and fills it with hope. Hope that this country girl and her son can lasso the roaming bronc rider into their family forever.

My Thoughts:

I am always in trouble when I find a good romance novel. E knows when I do he can count me out. This one was wonderful! I could not put it down. I'm always up for a good cowboy book and this was no exception to the rule. Little Owen sounded so cute and Tucker was the perfect gentleman. You won't want to miss this one!

Happy Reading!

Cobra Corn Review

Cobra Corn is a unique popcorn invented by a woman raised in India to share her favorite flavors with her son while she lived in the United States. Cobra Corn is not only special because of the flavor, it is also quite healthy. It has no artificial flavoring, coloring, or preservatives. And for those of you with other health concerns, popcorn is cholesterol and gluten-free.

We were luck enough to try Cobra Corn at our house and it certainly was different. I was not a fan but E really loved it. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Breathable Bedding Review

Any mom can tell you that putting your kids to bed at night brings a whole new set of worries. One of those worries shouldn't be your baby getting hurt by their crib bedding or by them getting hurt on their bed. Breathable Baby has worked hard to help ease this worry by creating Breathable Mesh Crib Liners.

Having been able to try a set of these bumpers I was very impressed. The only thing I don't like about these bumpers is the small hole at each end on my crib. I do however love them other than that. These bumpers are not only beautiful but very functional.

I tried these bumpers myself and it is amazing how well you can breath through them. This was very amazing to me because Baby D loves to curl up in the corner of his crib. I have wanted to use bumpers because I often have to unwedge his arms or legs but at the same point I don't want him hurt by the bumper either. The breathable bumpers are perfect for him because they hold tight to the crib edge and he can breath through them if he gets stuck in a corner. As you can see he is also quite happy with this arrangement. He's safely in the middle now but we'll see where he is in the morning.

These bumpers are wonderful and I highly suggest them for any family. Make sure you check out all the awesome colors!

EatSmart Bathroom Scale Review

Having a good bathroom scale can be good or bad depending on your feelings about your weight. I know when I'm pregnant it is the last thing I want to see. Now that I'm trying to loose weight my EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale helps me keep track of how I'm doing.

The very first thing I loved about this scale is that it is beautiful! I used to hid the old scale in a closet because I didn't want anyone to see it. Because this one is so pretty I don't feel like I have to do that so I can keep track of my weight better.

Another thing I love about this scale is that you do not have to tap it on. This makes it super easy to weigh the kids because it takes just a second to do rather than having to wait for it to get ready.

The last thing I love is the large numbers. As you can tell, you can easily read these numbers when standing up because they are large and well lit. It also holds the number for just a few seconds after you step off allowing you to check your weight then if needed.

If you're looking for an awesome new bathroom scale to help you out after the holidays this would be a great choice!

Blender Bottle Reivew

Blender Bottle is an interesting idea that allows you to use a whisk inside a cup without getting your fingers dirty. The whisk is a little ball that stays in the cup so you can add whatever you would like and mix it up. They also have slings for the Blender Bottle so you can carry it with you easily.

I gave E the assignment of trying this when he made dinner, so please excuse the messy kitchen in the background. We were having eggs so I figured it should work well. And work it did. These eggs were beautifully whipped within just a few shakes. This works well for so many things including mixing drinks (works great on formula), sauces (gravy), and marinades. The main problem we had with the Blender Bottle was that you cannot mix things like pancake batter or it can explode (it expands too much). Other than that we love our bottle and I'm sure we will be able to find many other things to use it for.

As a side note, the Blender Bottle is dishwasher safe so cleanup is easy.

*Disclaimer: I was sent this product free of charge for a fair and honest review.

EnvyDerm Mascara Review & Giveaway

Because I am allergic to many things I am always interested in trying new beauty products to see if I might find something I do not react to. EnvyDerm Mascara has given me just that. I cannot say that it makes my lashes grow faster but I do know that I can wear it without breaking out which is good enough for me.

EnvyDerm has generously offered to allow one Kerrific reader to try their Mascara. Please use the form below to enter.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I See Me Book

Because this is Baby D's first Christmas I have been on the lookout for some very special surprises. When I found I See Me! I knew their My Very Merry Christmas Board Book needed to be one of them.

Our book was super easy to make. I had to put in a few names and that was about it. After ordering, the book arrived very quickly and it is even more beautiful than the pictures.

This book measures 6" square and has 20 beautiful pages, each with D's name on it. I love how the pictures are bright and look like they've been hand pieced. The other thing that I love is that this is a sturdy board book.

This is a certainly going to be a keepsake gift that will last a lifetime. This however is not the only book available. Make sure you go check out all the other personalized books at I See Me!

*Disclosure: This product was provided to me at no charge for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Snack Attack Game Review

With three little boys we are always looking for fun family games that everyone can play. Snack Attack has become just that for our family. Snack Attack is produced by ThinkFun.

Snack attack is a matching game where everyone takes turns to make a very interesting "pizza". We have had so much fun playing that the boys just do not want to stop.
The rules of the game state that you should have the head chef turn the "ingredient tower" and fill the spots. Then everyone looks and shouts out what matches they have and the first one to claim the card gets it. We played a little differently, sense C doesn't talk, and just went around the circle of ingredients. I would ask, "what is this?" and then after they told me, "who needs ___ for their pizza?". It worked really well and the boys had lots of fun matching. We also learned some new foods, like peanuts and green peppers.
Altogether this is a very fun game and could really work for most any age. I would suggest that an older child or adult is the head chef as you do need to push slightly on the ingredient tower or you get cards stuck in the bottom. This is not hard, I just found the boys liked to try to lift it up which I think was what created the problem. This would be a great gift this holiday season. Go check out this and all the other fun games at ThinkFun!

Bambo-Nature Review

It's time for Blog Bash Christmas to begin. This year I have so many great sponsors I was able to put together some awesome packages. As we approach the giveaway I will be introducing you to each of them. I encourage you to visit their shops, become their Facebook fans, follow them on twitter and show them some sponsor love so you are ready to enter this great giveaway.

Today I have the opportunity to introduce you to Bambo-Nature.

Bamboo-Nature is a great company that makes disposable diapers with that are 80% biodegradable. This makes them much more eco-friendly than normal disposable diapers.

Although we Kerrs really love cloth diapers with 3 kids using them there are times where cloth is simply not an option. One of these times is when we go to grandma's house because she will not touch cloth let alone allow us to wash them at her house. Having said this I am always looking for a great way to diaper my kids when we can't use cloth and I think Bambo-Nature offers a good alternative.

I will start by telling you about the only problem I had, that was the fact that these are measured in kg on the package. This was not a big deal as when you order the weight is listed in pounds and the packages are all different colors so it is easy to tell what belongs to who. Another bonus for those of you with multiple kids is that the size of the diaper is written in easy to read print across the bum of the diaper. This makes it super easy when they are in the diaper bag, or when your children so kindly empty all the diapers out of their original bags.

Below are pictures of C & D in their diapers. C is right in the middle of his size range and as you can tell the diaper fits wonderfully. D is closer to the bottom end so his diaper looks a little big but it still fits snugly and we had no leaks with either diaper. B also wore some of C's diapers (sorry there isn't a picture). He is at the very top of the size range and again the diaper fit well and we had no problem with leaking.

We had a great experience with our Bambo-Nature diapers. I highly recommend them to any mom who wants to help the environment but can't do cloth for one reason or another. They have great customer service and a wonderful product. Make sure you also follow them on Facebook and twitter to hear all the latest information.
