Jumping - When was the last time you got on the trampoline with the kids? I know, for me it's been a while but it's one of the things I am excited to do again after this baby arrives. My kids love playing with mom and dad on the trampoline or in the bounce house. Both are great fun and playing games like dead man and crack the egg will create memories that you and your children will cherish for a lifetime.
Walking - Going for a walk is a simple way to stay physically fit with your kids. It's easy to load even the smallest of kids into a stroller or baby carrier and go enjoy the fresh air. Walking your kids to school or the park is a great way to make sure you're getting enough exercise. Or, if you're really feeling adventurous, try walking to the grocery store or the mall. With the cooler air of fall here now is the perfect time to start a walking routine.
Play Catch - This is an activity that I used to do with my dad. There is nothing like spending an evening playing catch in the yard. If you have a large enough family, or friends you can recruit, then a game of kickball is a great option as well. It's not hard and doesn't take any special equipment but will give you some quality time with your kids while giving you the exercise your body needs.
Ride Bikes - This is an activity that our family is looking forward to doing together. At this point I still have more little kids that can't ride their own bikes then I do ability to carry them on or behind an adult bike but bike rides are another great memory from my childhood. There is a lot you can see when riding a bike and it's a great way for kids to explore their neighborhoods with their parents.
Yoga - Yoga is a great option to do as a family. This is probably our favorite fitness activity because it's great for kids of any age and something that doesn't take a lot of planning ahead. Yoga can be made to fit any skill level and helps with strengthening, flexibility and relaxation (to name a few) so everyone can benefit. My children's favorite part of the yoga experience tends to be trying to tip mom over as she tries to balance but it's all in good fun and we really do have a great time together. As a bonus, I always feel better and sleep better after spending a little time on a yoga mat.
While you and your little one are out and about and moving make sure that you are protected from any diaper leakage with Pampers Cruisers and their three Extra Absorb Channels. You'll notice a difference in the amount your child is weighed down by their diaper and you'll love that a donation is made to families in need when you use Pampers. You're child will love that they stay in place but flex and move with them as they enjoy spending time with the ones they love most!

When my boys were small they never wanted to do any activities with me, but now that I'm going to be a grandmother, I'm going to try to incorporate some of these activities with my grandchild when they get bigger
ReplyDeleteI am loving being able to take part in all these fun activities with my best friend's little girl (now 3), as my baby boy is 25 and I'm waiting on becoming a grandmamma! The trampoline activity is by far my most favourite ... I used to love trampolining at school, and still love using a rebounder even now for exercise at home.
ReplyDeleteHave fun!!! With blessings, Callie - London, UK #blogelina
Such great tips!! Just getting outside is the best. My son is 14 and loves being on the computer. I need to try and make more time and even go outside with him to get him fit and have fun! :)
ReplyDeleteOur favorite family activity is going on walks! We love being outside, but don't have a yard because of living in apartments. So we take lots of day trips to parks to get our outdoor fix:)
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips! We love being outside, playing catch, blowing bubbles, spending almost everyday in the pool is our favorite outdoor activity!
ReplyDeleteA lovely post, beautifully set out and written! All of these suggestions are within the means of most busy mums and dads. Catch is a great GREAT thing to play, especially with a bunch of youngsters - we play a version here with the cats using ping pong balls and the simple act of chasing, and running is so much fun for everyone (and it wears them out - a Good Thing ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love talking walks with my daughter. We also try to out do each other with skipping when the weather makes it impossible to get out of the house;) Will try to incorporate some of the other activities on the list.
ReplyDeleteThese are such great tips. And I really like the photos your used to illustrate. I homeschool our kids, and we are always looking for ways to make physical education fun. I personally love evening walks, and the kids love to do pilates with me as well. Thank you for sharing some more ideas.
ReplyDeleteLove walking and I do enjoy a bounce or two. I can't help thinking though that I'm not doing something wrong with the bouncing. My calves always hurt after just a couple of bounces. Great ideas to get everyone out of the house, though! :)
ReplyDeleteI meant that I'm not doing something right! Poor brain, lol!
ReplyDeleteWow I've not jumped on a trampoline since my kids were very young - they are now grown adults married and in college. I think I would kill myself if I tried to jump on a trampoline now - LOL Thanks for sharing these great ideas! :) #blogelinacommentathon
ReplyDeleteWalking is my favorite exercise ever. I'm not flexible (and don't have good enough balance) for yoga and a trampoline would probably end up in broken bones. But walking is great exercise and you can do it pretty much anywhere!
ReplyDeleteWe love to go on family walks along a dike that runs alongside the river and a small airport at the same time. When the kids are older, we're going to take them on more bike rides for exercise and fun.
ReplyDeleteExercise is so important. I exercise with my students all the time, they especially like yoga. I usually have a better day emotionally and productively when I can start my day with exercise. Thanks for the post, I've fallen off the wagon, there is great incentive to get it together and get movin'!. :) Thank you
ReplyDeleteThese are great ways to exercise with your children. I believe it makes it more enjoyable when everyone is exercising together. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat ways to get your fitness on while hanging with the kids. #commentathon

Great fitness tips. Trampolines are out for me but the rest are lots of fun and we do them quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Kids have so much energy and it is always good to use that to get them to stay active. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI try to show my kids Yoga from time to time. It's cute to see them do poses. I want to get them bikes soon. It is good to keep them active.
ReplyDeleteThese are all great ideas for families to incorporate into their family time. We try to stay fit as a family so that the routine will become second nature for our kids.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! My kids love to jump for sure! I also look forward to when they can all ride bikes so we can ride together. Right now, I push them in a stroller or pull them in a wagon for our walks, so it's great exercise for me.
ReplyDeleteI love yoga! i barely get time to do it, but I love it when I do! We do walk as a family though!

I enjoy walking through the park and neighborhood- some streets are very hilly- and gives a good workout! I haven't been on a trampoline to bounce in ages, lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great ideas. We are always looking for more ways to stay fit together.
ReplyDeleteWe have found yoga to be an excellent family activity. Our youngest son who lives with autism benefits and can't wait to roll out his yoga mat. As well as the physical benefits he really benefits from learning how to quiet his mind, breath & relax.
ReplyDeleteThese are great ideas, it is so important for us to set a good example, as well as stay healthy so we can take care of everyone else! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThe one I do the most with my niece & nephew is going for a walk. My husband and I try to walk at least 4-5 miles a day anyway, so when we can, we take along the little ones for a shorter walk. They love it - there's always so much to see!
ReplyDeleteAhhh I never considered Yoga for younglings! Such a good idea, thank you :) xxxxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful ideas!!! We homeschool and we start our day with outside activities even with older kids it is a super way to start the day. #commentathon
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! It's so hard as a busy mom to try to remember to squeeze in fitness - it's an awesome way to keep yourself healthy and you provided some seamless ways to fit it into a schedule. Thank you for sharing! My girls love going for a walk/run as a family.

You can also rock out to a dance game on the Wii together. Anything that gets you moving is good so just turn on the radio.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic ideas, and I have my children keep active daily by doing some of these activities.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom has wanted to get her hands on a trampoline for the backyard – she said she really liked it when she was younger. I prefer riding bikes, especially through nature trails.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes forget to add in some physical activity to my days. Thanks for reminding me of ways I can do that.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! Love how you incorporated Pampers too!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of doing yoga together as a family. There are obviously a great deal of health benefits; I've got to try it. Thanks for the ideas!
ReplyDeleteLove all these activities for double duty of getting everyone moving and spending time together. Even my husband who is hard to get moving will participate in most of these (still working on getting him into yoga) These are also so easy to do anytime anywhere without a lot of prep or fuss.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great reminder--the best time is anytime with the kids. And they'll grow up much happier active. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love taking kids out in nature. Going for a walk in a park or the play ground is not only free but its very refreshing for myself and the kids.
ReplyDeleteI need to do this! I totally watch my daughter in the trampoline and don't get in it enough!
