Mommy MD Guides Review & Giveaway

It seems like something every mom does when she finds out she is expecting, especially the first time, is go find a book about pregnancy they can follow week by week. I am no exception and have actually tried a few of these type books. Even with baby #4 I still like to see how big the baby is each week and what new developments are being made.

With this pregnancy I have had the opportunity to be reading The Mommy MD Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth. The book is really well written and I am enjoying it. Probably my favorite part is the stories from the moms. It's nice to know that even pregnant doctors have many of the same emotions and uncertainties about pregnancy as the rest of us. Other highlights include tips for products you may want to try and special notes on when to call your doctor or midwife. Overall I have found it to be a very useful guide on what to expect during pregnancy with some fun stories to read along the way.

After you finish the Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth you should check out The Mommy MD Guide to Your Baby's First Year. I have enjoyed what I have read of this book even more than the one on pregnancy.  Here the Mommy MDs discuss everything from bringing your baby home and introducing siblings to treating diaper rash, planning playmates, clipping fingernails, keeping toys under control, vacationing and talking about the next baby. I have found this to be a great resource of tips and tricks. My favorite doctors and therapists have always been the ones that don't give me a horrified look when I ask them, "what would you do if this was your child?" and I am super excited to have this awesome "what would you do" resource available to me in my home at any time day or night, it is being put to good use!
